Today, guitarist Jeff Loomis and drummer Van Williams steer the next chapter alongside guitarist Jack Cattoi, bassist Semir Özerkan, and vocalist Berzan Önen. After years apart, the original spark returned with clarity—confirmed in the first week of rehearsals, where the atmosphere felt immediate, productive, and chemistry-driven. The setlist expanded to 25 songs, setting the stage for multiple headline performances.
Decisions centered on chemistry: for Van Williams, the work ethic remains unchanged—110 percent, as in the defining years. Warrel Dane’s lyrical legacy offers paths the band continues to honor and explore. In parallel, new material is taking shape, its early sketches already radiating confidence.
With Berzan Önen, the sonic palette widens. Jeff Loomis emphasizes his emotional presence and the ability to authentically honor Warrel Dane’s style while opening new directions—including unexpected dimensions like Tibetan-inspired monophonic chanting. NEVERMORE’s history carries an extraordinary lineage: guitarists Pat O’Brien, Tim Calvert, Steve Smyth, and Chris Broderick left distinct marks, while bassist Jim Sheppard helped define the band’s identity. Following the disbandment, Jeff Loomis and Van Williams pursued diverse projects, and Warrel Dane continued creating until his passing in 2017.
