From July 1 to 4, 2026, the 33rd edition of the ROCKHARZ Festival will take place at the foot of the Teufelsmauer on the Ballenstedt airfield. Founded in 1993, the festival has meanwhile become one of the most important metal festivals in the Federal Republic and is also the largest music event in the Harz region. More than 25,000 guests are expected in the first week of July to celebrate in the usual peaceful and family-friendly atmosphere to the sounds of around 60 top acts on two equivalent stages, each played alternately without any overlap between bands.
ROCKHARZ 2026 sold out faster than ever before in its history – and faster than any other festival in Germany this year. Only three days after the presale started in July 2025, the organizers announced that the highly sought-after festival tickets including camping were already completely sold out. The 2026 line-up once again offers a varied mix of international greats from different subgenres and musical diversity. Bands like Helloween, Alice Cooper, Kreator, Feuerschwanz, Black Label Society, Airbourne, Avatar, Paradise Lost, Hämatom, P.O.D., and many more promise another top-class festival experience.
For everyone who missed out on the presale but would still like to drop by to enjoy one or another band, a limited contingent of day tickets for all four festival days is available.

About Rockharz
Was Anfang der 1990er Jahre als kleine, lokale Metal-Zusammenkunft im Harz seinen Ursprung nahm, hat sich in über drei Jahrzehnten zu einem der bedeutendsten Metal-Festivals Deutschlands entwickelt. 1993 erstmals ausgerichtet, wuchs das ROCKHARZ Jahr für Jahr organisch – getragen von einer engagierten regionalen Szene, der Liebe zur Musik und der besonderen Lage am Fuße der Teufelsmauer. Früh setzte das Festival auf eine familiäre Atmosphäre und ein starkes Gemeinschaftsgefühl – Werte, die bis heute prägend sind. Mit dem Umzug auf den Flugplatz Ballenstedt fand das ROCKHARZ nicht nur ein neues Zuhause, sondern auch die räumlichen Möglichkeiten, sich behutsam weiterzuentwickeln, ohne seinen Charme einzubüßen. Während sich andere Festivals professionalisierten und kommerzialisierten, blieb das ROCKHARZ seinen Wurzeln treu: Metal in all seinen Facetten, faire Bedingungen für Fans und Bands sowie ein reibungsloser Ablauf ohne Überschneidungen auf den beiden gleichwertigen Bühnen. Dieser Mix machte es zu einem stetig wachsenden Publikumsmagneten – heute die größte Musikveranstaltung der gesamten Harzregion und ein europaweit geschätzter Treffpunkt der Metal-Community.
