Biography of Foreigner
„Unsere Musik hat viele Menschen weltweit berührt“, sagte Bandgründer Mick Jones einmal. „Wir sind ganz unabsichtlich fest mit dem Leben der Menschen verwoben.“ Tatsächlich zählen die Songs von FOREIGNER seit Jahrzehnten zu den meistgespielten Rockklassikern überhaupt. „I Want To Know What Love Is“ erreichte jüngst sogar den Spotify Billions Club und unterstreicht damit die ungebrochene Popularität der Band.
Die Geschichte von FOREIGNER begann 1976 in New York, als der britische Gitarrist Mick Jones gemeinsam mit Ian McDonald, Dennis Elliott, Lou Gramm, Al Greenwood und Ed Gagliardi die Band gründete. Bereits das selbstbetitelte Debütalbum von 1977 wurde mit Hits wie „Feels Like The First Time“ und „Cold As Ice“ ein internationaler Erfolg. Mit Alben wie „Double Vision“, „Head Games“ und insbesondere „4“ festigten FOREIGNER ihren Status als eine der größten Rockbands der Welt. Das Album „4“ hielt sich länger auf Platz 1 der Billboard-Charts als jedes andere Album in der Geschichte von Atlantic Records und brachte Klassiker wie „Urgent“, „Juke Box Hero“ und „Waiting For A Girl Like You“ hervor.
